Some two decades ago, I undertook a quest to set the land speed record with a Vincent powered streamliner.
I felt I had all the where-with-all to accomplish the gargantuan task other than my ability to pilot the thing.
One other reason was my physical stature.
The liner's cockpit is too small for a 6 ft. 220 lb. individual suited up in firesuit.
The rider needed to be more like 5 ft. 10 in., 165 lbs. soaking wet.
Next, I preferred experience, which I didn't have.
This has been the criteria for my selections of the five riders over the years.
